The Relay for Life of Northern York County, a 24-hour event benefiting the American Cancer Society, is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday- 4 p.m. Saturday at the Red Land High School track, 560 Fishing Creek Road, Fairview Township.
The event's opening ceremonies and Survivor Ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a Luminary Ceremony at 9 p.m.
The event's entertainment, planned by Red Land's Key Club, is based on the theme, "Board Games Come to Life: Outplay Cancer!"
Additionally, two student teams from Red Land will participate in the event, featuring students from the Key Club, National Honor Society and Peer Helpers.
So far, a total of 16 teams and 143 participants have raised $35,875.57 for the cause, according to the event's website at http://relay.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=49735&pg=entry.
